We first met Asah M in 2020 when she released her powerful debut single ‘Fak Imali’ The debuted on the Apple Music Mzansi playlist and had 2668 streams in its first week. The song was also playlisted on an array of local stations including Power FM. UJFM, Tshwane FM and more. Asah M returns in 2021 with a powerful follow-up track Sophumelela – a song inspired by people from her hometown in Barkly East located in Eastern Cape, South Africa. She wishes to inspire people from her hometown and give them hope with a message that nothing is impossible and all your dreams can be attained. The song features Eastern Cape Hip Hop artist Dumisani uYehovah, a rising star in the community who Asah M hopes to shine an inspirational light on.
Asah M is an almost ethereal being that just flows seamlessly through everything. She has a discrete but undeniable presence that grows on you slowly, gradually, until you find yourself so intoxicated and hooked. “It is my wish to take you on a journey through music and keep you intoxicated and hooked to the melody of an ever-evolving narrative”.
