Harkening back to the heart-on-a-leave love songs of yesteryear, Nomfundo Moh’s “Phakade Lami” adds an electronic touch to its mixture of classical R&B and Afropop. With broody synths accompanying twinkling percussion and measured keys, the song features AmaPiano vocalist ShaSha who sprinkles a touch of Shona to the ballad while fellow Afropop practitioner Ami Faku delivers a stirring emotive performance.
