To celebrate his birthday, SAMA nominated gospel singer and songwriter, SbuNoah, dropped his single titled ‘Nxa Ngimbona’. ‘Nxa Ngimbona’ serves as the first single from the singer’s upcoming body of work and is aimed at getting everyone in the Easter spirit.
SbuNoah brings life to this Easter standard with his rich vocals expressing that when he sees Christ on the cross he will leave all earthly things and gladly follow him. ‘Nxa Ngimbona’ is a popular hymn that died down in the last couple of years, and those are the hymns that I love re-creating. I always want to stress the importance of keeping these hymns alive particularly because of the message that they carry, that is still relevant today,” says SbuNoah who refers to the song as an Easter anthem.
Speaking about the inspiration behind choosing ‘Nxa Ngimbona’ as his first single, SbuNoah said: “At my show ‘Psalms with SbuNoah’ I decided to perform eight new songs for the audience and ‘Nxa Ngimbona’ was a clear favorite, and so I decided that it would be the first single from my upcoming project. The song is about Christ dying for us on the cross and the feeling that we have as Christians when we approach the Easter period. A feeling of humbleness and gratitude; and this song is able to portray all of those feelings.”
SbuNoah also believes that every year there should always be a song that leads us into the Easter period and this year it is ‘Nxa Ngimbona’. “With Easter coming up in April, I always believe in an Easter anthem. I was fortunate to have that with ‘Ewe Getsemane’ and churches have been singing my song on Easter for the last 3 years. This year, ‘Nxa Ngimbona’ jumped out as the Easter song and my first single,” said the beloved gospel singer.
What should fans expect from the popular gospel singer? “I have a project that I’m really proud of. I wrote the majority of the songs and I am really looking forward to giving my supporters something new from me. I have maintained and improved the SbuNoah sound without losing its authenticity. Lastly, I just want to say thank you to all my supporters. Everyone who is still listening to my first album to the people that fill out my shows. I am so grateful to all of you.”
