Vocalist and rapper VOLDY, who was born and bred in South Africa, emerged as a player in Australia’s bustling music scene with his soulful sounds and community-focused perspective. In 2022, VOLDY released his debut mixtape Solplay Tape, Vol. 1.

The tape drew influence from artists like Anderson .Paak, Saba, and GoldLink, whose examples encouraged VOLDY to explore various facets of Hip-Hop and Neo-Soul.

Now, VOLDY has released his new single, Time Tells, during his visit to the country. Influences of amapiano, hip-hop and soul can be felt throughout his music, and it is evident that he is here to stay. With his soulful approach to rap music, he has set himself apart, and in the international market, he has been likened to Bas, SiR, and others.

VOLDY was unequivocal about his intentions for Time Tells, stating, “I am trying to bring back some things that I think are lost in rap music, and that’s soulfulness.”
