Broadcasting live from Los Angeles on Monday, June 26, the show promises to be a spectacular event exclusively on BET (DStv channel 129) at 2am CAT. Aptly referred to as Culture’s Biggest Night, the “BET Awards” will commemorate five decades of Hip Hop throughout the electrifying telecast.

Additionally, it holds the remarkable distinction of being the #1 cable award show among Black adults aged 18-49 for an impressive 21 years in a row (CY02-CY22). To accommodate fans, the show will repeat on Monday, June 26 at 8pm CAT on BET (DStv channel 129).

Connie Orlando, EVP Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy at BET, expressed their excitement about the upcoming event, stating, “We are thrilled to be back in LA for BET Awards 2023 and to celebrate a huge cultural milestone – the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop. For five decades, Hip Hop has not only influenced American culture but has become a global phenomenon and one of the most influential musical genres of our lifetime. From music to fashion, art, and entertainment, we are honored to have always provided a platform for Hip Hop to thrive. We look forward to paying tribute to the pioneers and innovators as we amplify the new generation of Hip Hop artists like only BET can.”

Monde Twala, Senior Vice-President and General Manager for Paramount Africa and Lead for BET International, added his excitement, saying, “this year’s show will be a testament to the transformative power of this genre, showcasing the remarkable impact it has had on music, fashion, and society. We are excited to gather together to pay homage to the legends, recognize the emerging talents, and create a truly unforgettable experience that captures the essence of Hip Hop’s vibrant culture.”

The “BET Awards” 2023 promises to be a night to remember, celebrating the legacy of Hip Hop and its profound influence on the music industry, fashion, and society. Prepare for a star-studded event as legends are honored, emerging talents are recognized, and the dynamic culture of Hip Hop takes center stage.
