SAMRO and Concerts SA express deep appreciation to the Norwegian Embassy in Pretoria, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the people of Norway for their invaluable support over the past 20 years. This remarkable partnership has played a pivotal role in nurturing and promoting Southern African music through Concerts SA and the Mmino project.

Concerts SA celebrates a decade of impactful contributions to the regional music ecosystem, supporting over 5,000 concerts at 870 venues, creating 14,600 work opportunities, and reaching an audience of more than 1 million people. The project’s multi-pronged approach, including venue support, mobility fund grants, school concerts, workshops, and research, has been groundbreaking.
As the Norwegian support concludes, Concerts SA seeks new collaborations to sustain their efforts. SAMRO commits to continued support for the project’s operational expenses, urging other organizations to join them in nurturing the vibrant music scene.
Looking ahead, Concerts SA remains dedicated to engaging stakeholders, promoting a professional music ecosystem, and empowering artists and music professionals. Together, they aim to elevate southern African music and ensure its flourishing future.
