And of course, Busiswa’s lyrical wizardry and her ability to effortlessly transition from spoken word to powerhouse vocals only add to the magic of this certified hit.

In this interview, we chat with the reigning queen to delve into musical diversity, inspirations behind her latest sensational single, “Eazy” and other work we can expect from here.

[BUSISWA]: This genre is inspired by what has been trending, but what I have been doing before with Gqom, I wanted something that would mix well with Gqom and Amapiano and DJ Khao came along and that’s what he was doing, I really enjoyed experimenting with this sound.

[BUSISWA]: I think I can add to Amapiano or any genre. I don’t want to obsess over the genres but I think I add to the South African musical landscape as an international act who can hold my own on any stage, anywhere in the world, and also on any station and platform and that’s what I know that I can stand out as an artist with global impact.

[BUSISWA]: I’ve also done some international tracks with my favourite artists from West Africa, and the UK, so I’m hoping that there will be a lot of international features that are going to be released included in the projects or just singles of their own, I’ve also been contributing to other people’s projects, myself, hopefully those that will come out for the world.

[BUSISWA]: I would love to still work with people like Yemi Alade, and Burna Boy, locally I would love to work with Black Motion as well as acts like the electronic, and afro tech acts like Da Capo, still very keen to work with a lot of artists.

[BUSISWA]: There’s a project that can be expected, but I will just give it time I am not rushing to drop off a full project, I think singles are working for me but in terms of who I’ve been in the studio with, I’ve been in the studio with people like Lady Du, MaWhoo, Deepsen and KingTalkzin.
