Two South African artists, Musa Keys and Tyla, have made history as the first from their country to secure nominations in the Grammy Awards’ Best African Music Performance category. Their exceptional talents have earned them a place among other notable nominees like ASAKE & Olamide for “Amapiano,” Burna Boy for “City Boys,” Davido for “UNAVAILABLE (where Musa Keys is featured),” Ayra Starr for “Rush,” and Tyla for “Water.” The recognition not only celebrates their individual artistry but also signifies a significant moment for South African music on a global platform like the Grammys.

At the forefront of nominations for the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards® stand SZA (9), Phoebe Bridgers (7), Serban Ghenea (7), Victoria Monét (7), and a talented array of other artists. The GRAMMY Awards, the sole peer-voted music accolade, are chosen by the diverse membership of the Recording Academy, encompassing musicians across genres and creative roles. This year’s nominees, announced through a live stream on live.GRAMMY.com, span from emerging talents to industry legends, celebrating their exceptional contributions to music.

The eligibility period for this year covers recordings released between Oct. 1, 2022, and Sept. 15, 2023, with the final voting phase set between Dec. 14, 2023, and Jan. 4, 2024. The ceremony returns to Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on Sun, Feb. 4, 2024, broadcasted live on CBS Television Network and Paramount+.

Preceding the main event, the GRAMMY Awards Premiere Ceremony® will stream live on various platforms, featuring top production by Fulwell 73 Productions, with Ben Winston, Raj Kapoor, and Jesse Collins as executive producers.
