Imagine the connection that comes alive when your favorite tunes weave stories between friends. Spotify’s journey into enhancing shared music experiences has been remarkable, from Collaborative Playlists to the beloved Blend feature. The love from fans is evident—over 45 million Blends created and 200 million hours collectively spent on Collaborative Playlists in just a month! Jam has now entered the stage. Jam is an experience tailored for real-time, collective listening. It’s a blend of Spotify’s social prowess and personalized technology, elevating group music sessions to new heights. Premium subscribers can invite others to build a shared queue, crafting an exclusive musical journey for all listeners.

This rollout is global, and available for all Spotify users, regardless of subscription. Premium or Free, everyone’s invited to create a Jam. The app will lend a hand in curating songs that align with everyone’s tastes, sparking joy whether you’re cooking together or enjoying games outdoors. The beauty of Jam lies in its inclusivity. Mix Premium and Free users, gather friends from across the globe or the room—the music unites you.

Select your playlist or song of the moment, hit “Start a Jam,” and let the music flow through your chosen device. Household members on the same Wi-Fi might even get a nudge to join in! Once the groove begins, everyone can add tracks, see who picked what, and revel in personalized recommendations—all from their own devices. The host takes the reins, managing the guest list, tweaking the queue, ensuring the vibe stays perfect.
You can then invite your squad in one of three ways:
- Turn on Bluetooth, then tap your phones together
- Have your friends scan the QR code on your host screen
- Hit “share” to send the link through social, text, SMS, and more
Prepare for a deeper connection through shared artists, songs, and albums. Discover unexpected gems, unearthed by those around you, as the music spins stories that tie you closer together
