Ria Nagar is the Executive Director A&R and Marketing of seasoned distribution and boutique entertainment company Ziiki Media. She first joined the company almost four years ago after having studied the business and the music industry. Her role requires her to work closely with artists, overseeing their musical direction, and growth and marketing them to the appropriate channels. Ria also serves as the Regional Manager of Southern Africa which sees her running the daily operations across the southern region, working to ensure the development and growth of the brand reaches new heights. 

Ria comes from a Tanzanian-Indian family but has moved around quite a lot across Europe and the US – which exposed her to music from different countries. From a young age, she studied music and throughout university, despite pursuing a degree in engineering, she was working on music for at least 15 hours per week. During this time, she led a Capella group at her university and interned for Universal Music in the US and in South Africa during school breaks to understand more about the industry. Upon graduating she joined Ziiki Media, which was a family business.

She started off as a member of the marketing team and later grew to oversee the function. Some of her career highlights include working on the “Only One King” album by AliKiba, wherein she oversaw the collaborations, music video shoots, and marketing of the album. “Through the work we did on this album, AliKiba’s audience grew hugely and tangibly, his Spotify monthly listeners shot up from 40,000 to 300,000. It really showed me how curating an album and marketing properly can have a huge impact.”

Ziiki Media, a music aggregator, distributor, and production house that is rapidly expanding its presence in the Indian market and African markets was founded by businessman Arun Nagar, who currently serves as the CEO of the company. Home to the likes of Rapper, Nadia Nakai, Diamond Platnumz, and many exceptional artists, Ziiki Media prides itself on pushing boundaries in the music industry in its practices while carving a path for new artists seeking a  home that will not only take their music to new heights but to the world.
