In a clever twist of innovation and fun, Wimpy South Africa has launched its new R19.90 Cappu-cci-no special with an engaging and musical flair. The iconic restaurant chain has transformed its coffee station into a beatbox booth, creating a unique blend of coffee and rhythm that has excited customers and garnered buzz.

The unexpected launch took place at the Mall of Africa in Johannesburg, where patrons were greeted with a surprising twist to their coffee experience. As customers placed their orders, they were asked for their favorite songs. What followed was a delightful spectacle: the coffee machine was reimagined as a DJ booth, with South Africa’s top beatboxers, Morgan Beatbox, Remix, and Thato Titisi, turning the sounds of the cappuccino-making process into a beatboxing performance.

Jodi Law, Brand Manager at Wimpy South Africa, shared her excitement about the campaign: “Morgan Beatbox, Remix, and Thato Titisi all turned heads as they spilt the beans on our Cappu-cci-no special and dropped the beats of some of South Africa’s favorite hits while we prepared our customers’ short caps.” Law explained that the idea was inspired by the familiar sounds associated with making a cappuccino. “The ‘cci’ sound when a cappuccino is made is synonymous with the delicious taste of our espresso-based drink. We decided to lean into this natural mnemonic and collaborate with beatboxers to freestyle customers’ requests as a creative way to promote our R19.90 special.”

The stunt not only showcased the creative prowess of the beatboxers but also added an entertaining element to the everyday coffee run. As Law put it, “There’s always one last cold front in Mzansi before we can pack away the winter woolies for summer, so we’re dropping this special like it’s hot, to keep you warm and gear you up for good times, as we head closer to the heat of Dezemba and the Festive Season!”
