In September, fashion and fine spirits took center stage as Sash South Africa teamed up with Bisquit & Dubouché for an unforgettable evening at Artistry Johannesburg. The event showcased Sash’s latest collection, Phola Park Sunday Best, offering a sensory journey that blended fashion, cinematic storytelling, live music, and signature Bisquit & Dubouché cocktails.
The Phola Park Sunday Best collection is inspired by the Zulu word Phola, meaning “to be calm, to heal.” The collection encapsulates the essence of togetherness and community, taking guests on a serene Sunday journey in Phola Park, where people gather dressed in their finest to celebrate peace and unity. The collection’s narrative was brought to life through a captivating 10-minute fashion film, merging cultural heritage with contemporary fashion.
Guests were greeted with cocktails crafted exclusively for the occasion, each embodying the spirit of the event. The curated cocktails included:
- Tranquil Sunset: A refreshing citrus cocktail symbolizing healing and tranquillity.
- Sunday Picnic: A vibrant and fruity blend capturing the spirit of community and love.
- Golden Hour Sparkle: A sparkling cocktail with herbal notes, inspired by the warmth of a peaceful park gathering.
As the night unfolded, renowned South African artist Toroh O Wano treated guests to an intimate live performance, followed by a Q&A session led by host Nandi Dlepu. The conversation delved into the inspiration behind the collection, highlighting its cultural significance and design elements. DJ sets by Kaddy and Jimm & Tonic kept the energy high throughout the night.
Known for its excellence in crafting premium cognac, Bisquit & Dubouché added a refined touch to the evening. The brand’s passion for artistry and heritage was reflected in the curated gallery space, where mannequins dressed in Phola Park looks guided guests through a visual storytelling experience.
