This fresh take on the street anthem, originally crafted by Durban’s Finest—Dladla Mshunqisi and GoldMax—was released today, October 18, 2024, across all major streaming platforms.

Following the success of his second EP, Art of Love II, earlier this year, Tycoon treats his fans to this electrifying remix. As a birthday gift to himself, the Soweto-born producer and DJ brings his signature sound to the mix, blending Gqom and Amapiano elements. “I had to play around a couple of times till I felt like I found the sound which I thought was best. I didn’t think adding piano elements to a Gqom track would be in perfect sync,” he explains about the creative process behind the track.

Tycoon is no stranger to working with top-tier talent. With a résumé that includes collaborations with Boohle, Russell Zuma, Sir Trill, DJ Stokie, and MaWhoo, the Iza Mawala remix further solidifies his place in the South African music scene. The track is already being dubbed a December anthem, a label Tycoon embraces. “If the people are saying it’s the December anthem, then we’re running with it. I gave the people what they want—good music.”
