“”beg for it” is an Afro-R&B track that speaks to the importance of communication in a relationship” Njerae says. “beg for it,” tells the story of a lover-girl who is knee-deep in love. She expresses that she not only wants this man, but she yearns for his love and is virtually willing to beg for it. Njerae explores the initial confusion that comes with loving someone and the lengths we go to show it. “I have always been a fan of open communication in relationships but sometimes I also realise that it can be hard to say what you want to say. ‘beg for it’ was my attempt at letting him know that I not only want but need his love,” she shared.

Azana’s heartfelt vocals shine in her collaboration with Big Zulu, as she pleads, “Uthe ngenze njani nah? Dali ngenze njani nah? Ngibuyele ekhaya?” The song reflects on a broken marriage, exploring themes of love, respect, and devotion. “It’s an argumentative dialogue…but they agree never to grow apart,” Azana explains. Working with Big Zulu was “an answered prayer,” she adds. Big Zulu describes the collaboration as magical, saying, “Little did we know something magical would come out of it.” This relatable track captures the ups and downs of relationships, resonating deeply with listeners.

Since 2020, Apple Music’s Africa Rising program has spotlighted emerging African talent, helping artists reach global audiences. In 2025, the program introduces the next generation of superstars, including Nigerian Afrobeats artist FOLA, Kenyan indie-soul star Njerae, South African singer Lusanda, and rising Ghanaian beatmaker AratheJay.
FOLA expressed his excitement, saying, “2025 is going to be filled with new music…I’m focused on strengthening my presence in Nigeria while pushing boundaries.” AratheJay, also thrilled by his selection, declared, “2025 is going to be my year of global domination.” Kaestyle shared, “My fans should expect more great music this year.” Njerae, representing Kenya, shared her gratitude, calling the selection a “pivotal moment for the creative community in Kenya.” Lusanda, honored as a cover star, expressed, “I can’t wait for you to hear how it all comes together.” These talented artists are ready to take the global stage.

Curated by Mpumi Mayisa, the solo exhibition delves into themes of resilience, memory, and collective identity. Each piece challenges viewers to reflect on the complexities of life. Unfinished Symphony will be on display from 7 February to 9 March 2025.

Vans has revealed its innovative Vans West End concept store in London, blending skateboarding culture with functional retail design. Located on Oxford Street, the store features a 200-square-meter Roman travertine stone skate ramp that doubles as a merchandising space, transforming to host events such as skate demos and lessons. The store’s design, crafted by Andrea Caputo Studio, incorporates unique materials like grinded plywood, a nod to skate ramp construction. Regular cultural events will include music shows and art exhibitions.
