Modupeola Fadugba Wins 2025 Norval Sovereign African Art Prize
Nigerian artist Modupeola Fadugba has been awarded the 2025 Norval Sovereign African Art Prize for Portrait of an Artist at Ease. She receives a $35,000 cash prize, a solo exhibition at Norval Foundation, and a residency at Outset Contemporary Art Fund in London. The prize celebrates contemporary African art, with judges selecting Fadugba from 28 finalists. DuduBloom More won the inaugural FAMM Women’s Prize. All finalist works are up for auction via Strauss & Co. until 13 March 2025, supporting both artists and Norval Foundation’s art education initiatives. The exhibition runs at Norval Foundation until 20 April 2025.
