The Openingskonsert met al die ietse features Judith Sephuma, Demi Lee Moore, Die Heuwels Fantasties, and more, while Nataniël’s theatrical open-air concert, Duif, closes the festival on April 6. Debut performances include Bach & Beatles by the Charl du Plessis Trio and Goue Boere, silwer tango, exploring the connection between Afrikaans folk music and Argentine tango.

Joburg Film Festival Celebrates Cinematic Excellence

The seventh edition of the Joburg Film Festival, hosted by MultiChoice, nears its conclusion with its official awards ceremony held at the Sandton Convention Centre. This year’s festival showcased a rich mix of films from local and international creators, captivating audiences with diverse storytelling and industry-focused programmes like JBX Talks and JBX Youth. Top honors included Why the Cattle Wait (Best Short Film), HAPPY: The Real Happy Sindane Story (Best African Feature Film), and Blind Love (Best Feature Film).
