We’re always keeping its eye on rising voices shaping the future of African music and Zambian-South African artist Chipego is making a bold entrance! Her latest single, ‘All Yours’, recently landed a coveted spot on Spotify’s New Music Friday, bringing a fresh wave of genre-fluid Afro-pop to global ears.
The soulful track is more than just a single—it’s a statement. Laced with playful energy, luminous production, and emotional resonance, ‘All Yours’ offers a love letter to the present moment, encouraging listeners to embrace the now. It’s also the first release from One Groove’s upcoming collaborative album, born from the inaugural AmaGroove Residency. A bold cross-continental initiative uniting African and European artists in creative co-creation. The project is backed by a coalition of cultural powerhouses including the Riky Rick Foundation, AUTOR, Nirox Foundation, Koda Kultur, and the Danish Foreign and Cultural Ministries.
Originally titled ‘Ready’, Chipego reveals that the song’s message is rooted in self-belief and immediacy. “In Bemba, my native language, I sing ‘We’re ready now’ at the end of the chorus,” she explains. “It’s my way of telling the people I love that we don’t have to wait for tomorrow. Our wildest dreams can start today,” she says.
The sonic universe of ‘All Yours’ is a rich blend of heart and rhythm, thanks to a production dream team: Billboard #1 producer Pilfinger (Randy Jackson, Jordin Sparks), Elias Njovu (Ugandan-Danish producer known for work with Neon Dreams), and South African beatmaker uBeyond (Sjava). The track was co-written by Una Rams, who’s collaborated with icons like Black Coffee and Idris Elba.
Chipego is rapidly gaining recognition as one of Southern Africa’s most magnetic new artists. Her debut project, Don’t Forget to Remember, has already crossed 100,000 streams and earned radio play across major South African stations. With nearly 70K TikTok followers and a blossoming global fanbase, she’s poised to be a defining voice of her generation.
But ‘All Yours’ isn’t just about one artist—it signals the rise of a movement. One Groove’s AmaGroove Residency and its soon-to-be-launched artist-first label are reimagining what global music collaboration can look like: boundaryless, equitable, and rooted in creative ownership. The upcoming 2025 album will be a genre-defying testament to the power of unity through music, featuring a powerful lineup including Amunda, Zanah African, Zamani, OB Magik, Flame Fair, and more.
In a world where the music industry often feels rigidly defined, One Groove is building something freer music born in the space between worlds. With ‘All Yours’, they’ve dropped the first spark. The fire’s just getting started.
‘All Yours’ is streaming now on all major platforms.
