From last night’s exclusive listening session, the new Jazzwrld and Thukuthela album “The Most Wanted” already sounds like something truly special. From what I heard, it’s a beautiful body of work that deserves my full attention and a proper deep listen — without the influence of the live band energy (as amazing as it was). I actually started listening again as soon as I got home… Asilwi Na Bantu is currently a fave!
Thukuthela was stellar in how he shared the stories behind the songs in the album. His reflections added real depth to the album and experience of the event and he delivered so seamlessly. I really hope the listening session is all captured and will be shared on their YouTube channel — I’d love to revisit those moments.
And the surprise decision to drop the album during the session? Loooove that! Friday releases get so overwhelming it’s nice to get a new project on a day that every other artist is not dropping new music👌🏾
The session was a beautiful celebration of their music, storytelling, and artistry and I’m sure the fans in attendance appreciated it.
