Big Brother Mzansi returns to Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161) for Season 6, with entries officially opening on Thursday, 2 October 2025. Aspiring housemates must submit a two-minute audition video at mzansimagic.tv/bigbrother. Applicants must be South African citizens or legal residents, aged 21 or older by 1 January 2026.

The show is looking for bold, creative, and open-minded individuals who can stand out and thrive in the Big Brother house. Past winners include Sweet Guluva (Season 5), McJunior aka Inkabi yase Atlanta (Season 4), and Mpho Wa Badimo (Season 3). “Big Brother Mzansi continues to be one of South Africa’s most culturally resonant reality shows, offering a bold and unfiltered lens into the lives of everyday South Africans,” says Shirley Adonisi, Channel Director for Local Entertainment Channels. 

Big Brother Mzansi’s Reunion Special

12 December 2025: Mzansi Magic will broadcast the first-ever Big Brother Mzansi Reunion Special, premiering on Sunday, 14 December at 17:00. Hosted by Smash Afrika, this four-part series features contestants from the S’yamosha and Umlilo seasons. The special will focus on the cast’s lives post-production and address outstanding conflicts from previous seasons. Viewers can watch on DStv Channel 161.
