Award-winning creative and cultural figure Kutloano “Da Kruk” Nhlapo has officially launched a new podcast series titled On The Record with Da Kruk, expanding his footprint across South Africa’s dynamic music and media landscape. Known for his work as a DJ, entrepreneur, author, and radio host, Da Kruk now turns his focus to storytelling through sound — delving into the evolution and influence of South African dance music.
On The Record serves as a space for dance music artists and industry tastemakers to reflect on their journeys, unpacking the stories behind their careers, sound evolution, and iconic releases. Listeners can expect in-depth discussions that go beyond typical interviews, offering a deeper appreciation of the craft and culture that fuel South Africa’s global dance music presence.
In collaboration with Zkhiphani, a platform recognised for its commitment to youth culture through fashion, music, and art, the podcast aims to elevate conversations around creativity and the realities of life in the industry. Speaking on the launch, Da Kruk shared:
