Inside Moscow Fashion Week Bridging Russian Style with International Markets
13 March 2026
Concluding the global fashion season, Moscow Fashion Week (14 – 19 March) is showcasing the dynamic trends shaping today’s industry, most notably the rising prominence of emerging designers. Selected from over a thousand applications, fresh talent appears alongside established heavyweights like Viva Vox, Solangel, and Julia Dalakian. This blend of over 200 brands gives promising creators a vital platform to enrich contemporary fashion with fresh ideas while highlighting the profound creative strength of the Russian fashion scene.

Global Experts Praise Russian Craftsmanship
The potential of this burgeoning talent is highly valued by international industry leaders. Mahlet Teklemariam, Founder Hub of Africa Fashion Week, observed: “What impressed me most was the remarkable diversity among the designers. Each brand presented a distinct creative identity, yet the overall standard of craftsmanship and presentation was consistently strong. The collections were thoughtfully constructed, visually compelling, and clearly reflected a deep level of design maturity.

There was a sense of confidence in the work, from tailoring to fabric choices, that made the showcases feel both elevated and intentional.” Stephen Manzini, Founder and CEO Soweto Fashion Week & SA Fashion Association says “I think both Johannesburg and Moscow share a strong sense of identity. Designers in both cities are driven by passion, they tell stories through fabric, culture, and emotion. There’s also this hunger to be seen, to redefine how the world perceives fashion from our regions. Moscow’s style feels powerful yet elegant, there’s confidence in how people present themselves”
Fostering International Fashion Exchange
Beyond local talent, the Moscow runway actively welcomes international labels, fostering a vibrant cross-cultural exchange. Designers from South Africa, Ethiopia, China, Spain, and Turkey use the event to expand their global footprint. Returning Turkish designer Emre Erdemoğlu notes: “Moscow Fashion Week provided an international platform to present my design philosophy and narrative-driven approach, allowing the brand to reach a wider audience beyond Turkey.

This participation strengthened the brand’s visibility in global fashion circles and created new opportunities for collaborations and media coverage.” This exchange is mutual; Russian brands like Ermilov are successfully debuting at international events, allowing the global community to draw inspiration from new cultures and broaden their fashion horizons.
