Rising Rap Star Hurricane Wisdom Honors Nigerian Roots with New Track “LIVING UP”

20 March 2026

Florida-based artist Hurricane Wisdom (born Wisdom Mikeal Oluola) is paying homage to his Nigerian roots with his latest Afrobeats-inspired single, “LIVING UP,” dropping Friday, March 20th via Rebel Music. Recorded during a recent trip to Lagos, the track has already generated significant buzz among fans and industry peers, including Lil Baby, following a recent Instagram teaser. While in Lagos, Hurricane also traveled to the Makoko community to shoot the song’s vibrant music video, which captures him dancing and vibing with the locals.

Building on Recent Momentum

“LIVING UP” arrives on the heels of several highly successful recent releases that have kept Hurricane’s momentum surging into the new year. It follows the late February drop of “Dangerous” and the hit single “Over Now,” which quickly amassed 2.4 million views and 1.8 million Spotify streams. These tracks capitalize on the energy of his late 2025 banger, “My Life,” a massive success that pulled in 2.7 million views and peaked at #9 on YouTube’s Trending Chart for Music.

A Record-Breaking Run

The new single builds upon an outstanding 2025 for Hurricane Wisdom, during which he firmly established himself as one of rap’s most exciting rising stars. Following his breakout 2024 hit “Giannis,” he released two powerhouse projects last year: Perfect Storm (featuring the Polo G-assisted “Giannis” remix) and the 17-track Perfect Storm: Sorry 4 The Rain. Both projects charted on the Billboard 200, with the latter peaking at #54, bolstered by a string of viral, YouTube-trending summer singles like “Woosah,” “Powerhouse” (debuted on Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon), and “OT.”
