Award-winning Maskandi duo Shwi Nomthekhala has dropped a fire single titled “Uthando”.  Teaming up with award-winning Afro-pop singer-songwriter, Nathi Mankayi as well as singer and songwriter, Mnqobi Yazo the duo indeed showcases their versatility in this single which is going to be the EVOLUTION OF THE DUO.

With the Maskandi sound evolving Shwi Nomtekhala took it upon themselves to add their flavour in the “new age maskandi” era. The track Is a mellow mid-tempo reflection on the loss of love and broken promises. The talented singers take turns crooning about the trials of romantic relationships and no longer believing in love. The result is a fresh infusion of traditional folk music, maskandi pop, and as well as contemporary afrobeat that fans-new and old-can enjoy.

They first made a mark with their 2004 release, “Wangisiza Baba” blew that blew the nation away and got everyone talking. And now with “Uthando”, a track which is set the festive alite is now available for all to enjoy!
