South Africa’s legendary supergroup, TKZee, is set to mark a significant milestone with the premiere of a special podcast-style interview hosted by Lesley Mofokeng. This event pays homage to the 25th anniversary of their groundbreaking album, Halloween, which has left an indelible mark on popular culture. The podcast video will premiere on TKZee’s YouTube channel on Youth Day, June 16th, 2024, at 10:00 AM SAST.

Reflecting on this milestone, Zwai Bala of TKZee emphasizes the importance of recognizing the role of the youth both in the past and present. “As much as TKZee was a representation of the youth at the time, we can’t take for granted the contribution that those young people made to the struggle for freedom before us, and the opportunities the youth have today. My hope is that the 25th Anniversary of Halloween will serve to document some of our experiences while sending out a message of doing the work and being persistent about making that dream happen,” he shares.

Released in 1998, just four years into South Africa’s democratic era, Halloween was more than an album—it was a cultural phenomenon. TKZee’s music transcended genres and age demographics, resonating with a diverse audience. Now, 25 years later, Zwai Bala, Kabelo Mabalane, and the family of the late Tokollo ‘Magesh’ Tshabalala want to share this celebratory podcast with the world.

This anniversary podcast is set to feature special appearances by industry icons, loyal fans, and members of the TKZee family, all paying tribute to the legacy of the group. It is a poignant reminder of the significant place TKZee holds in South African music history.

Don’t miss out on this historical celebration. Set a reminder and join the premiere of the 25th Anniversary of Halloween podcast on TKZee’s YouTube channel.
