South African sneaker brand Bathu has teamed up with media personality and entrepreneur Boity Thulo to launch a new footwear collection called “The Volt Pack.” Framed around the idea of being “plugged-in,” the release speaks to a generation that moves fast, creates constantly and embraces self-expression. The campaign leans into themes of electricity and momentum, positioning the sneakers as part of a broader cultural lifestyle rather than just athletic wear.

A Decade Of Focus

For founder Theo Baloyi, the Volt Pack signals the brand’s next phase. “Our focus has always been footwear, because footwear is very technical… and we wanted to master that,” Baloyi explained in an interview with FA.M.E. SA. “That is why, for 10 years we haven’t done anything but low sneakers. But as we just hit the 10-year milestone, we’re obviously looking into diversifying our product offering.” Now, after building a strong foundation around a single silhouette, the brand is beginning to explore new ways to expand its offering while maintaining the identity that built its loyal community.

The Boity Factor

Bringing Boity into the collaboration adds a layer to the release. Beyond her influence as a media personality, she has built a reputation as an entrepreneur, making the partnership feel like a meeting point between two local success stories. For Boity, the collaboration felt like a natural alignment. “He’s someone I’ve looked to for inspiration on my own entrepreneurial journey,” she said in an interview with FA.M.E. SA. “The timing made sense for where I am in my career.”

Introducing The “Voltage” Tiers

The Volt Pack also introduces a new product structure for the brand. Instead of a single sneaker option, the collection is divided into tiered “voltage” levels, creating different entry points for consumers. Boity highlighted the distinction, describing the V-120 as a more relaxed everyday option, while the V-180 and V-240 tiers represent a more elevated style statement.

A Calculated Step Forward

The Volt Pack reflects a brand that understands its growth moment. By introducing tiered products and collaborating with a culturally relevant partner, Bathu is expanding its reach while staying connected to the community that built it.
