BET has announced that the highly anticipated “BET Awards” 2024 just got even bigger with the addition of South African sensation Tyla to its stellar lineup of performers. Joining Tyla on stage will be Ice Spice, Ms. Lauryn Hill & YG Marley, and previously announced acts GloRilla, Latto, Muni Long, Sexyy Red, Shaboozey, and Victoria Monét. The event, often dubbed “Culture’s Biggest Night,” will also feature Tanner Adell on the BET Amplified stage. Hosting this grand celebration will be the Academy Award® nominated and Golden Globe® winning Taraji P. Henson, while the GRAMMY® award-winning icon USHER will be honoured with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement BET Award.

The “BET Awards” 2024 will air live on Monday, July 1, 2024, at 2:00 am WAT/3:00 am CAT on BET Africa, DStv Channel 129, and GOtv Channel 21.

For the past three years, the “BET Awards” has been the #1 cable award show among all adults 18-49 and continues to be the top award show among Black adults in the same age group for an impressive 22 consecutive years. This event is the ultimate platform celebrating the best in Black music, creativity, and sportsmanship, and it serves as a driving force for social change.

Drake leads the nominations this year with seven nods, while African global stars, including Tyla, Burna Boy, Tems, Ayra Starr, Focalistic, Davido, Lojay, Asake, Tyler ICU, Seyi Vibez, Ayo Edebiri, and Damson Idris, have received nominations across various categories. The nominees were selected by a voting academy of esteemed music industry insiders, performers, and presenters. Fans can vote for their favorites for the Viewer’s Choice Award until June 30, 2024, at 6:30 PM PT/9:30 PM ET.

This year’s show is overseen and executive produced by Connie Orlando, EVP of Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy, and Jamal Noisette, SVP of Tentpoles & Music Community Engagement, for BET. Jesse Collins Entertainment is the production company for the show, with Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay also serving as executive producers.

BET is transforming “Culture’s Biggest Night” into “Culture’s Biggest Week” with the BET Experience 2024, promising the ultimate celebration of Black culture and entertainment. The week will feature performances by influential artists like Davido, Cardi B, Gunna, Sexyy Red, The Roots, Common, Queen Latifah, and Jungle Brothers. Attendees will enjoy live performances, comedy shows, cultural conversations, immersive workshops, and more, culminating in the BETX 2024 Fan Fest, a free, all-ages festival at the Los Angeles Convention Center on June 28 and 29.
