In a groundbreaking initiative that merges music and conservation, “Music for Wildlife” has launched on Trace’s global network. This dynamic concert series, featuring some of Africa’s top musical talents, aims to raise awareness and support for wildlife conservation across the continent. Produced by Wild Africa, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving Africa’s wildlife, and OAS1SONE, a leading network for music and live experiences, the initiative is set to reach over 350 million viewers worldwide. This collaboration comes at a crucial time as Africa faces significant challenges like poaching, habitat loss, and human-wildlife conflict, all contributing to a drastic decline in wildlife populations.

The concert series showcases over 150 musicians from diverse African backgrounds, including Musa Keys, CKay, Focalistic, Azawi, Vinka, and many others. These artists are not only performing their hits but also using their platform to advocate for wildlife protection. International stars and influencers like Davido, 2Baba, and Sir Richard Branson are also lending their voices to this important cause.

Vinka, a multi-award-winning East African singer-songwriter and businesswoman, shared her thoughts on the project: “Music for Wildlife has changed how I think about myself in relation to the natural world. Music is the most powerful connector, and it’s critical to use it to connect with the challenges facing our wildlife.”

Focalistic, a pioneer of Amapiano music, highlighted the economic importance of wildlife: “Wildlife and national parks create a lot of jobs in Africa, attracting tourists from across the world. Let’s use music and arts to protect our amazing wildlife.” The series will include studio sessions, interviews, and captivating wildlife content, broadcasting across Trace’s television and streaming platforms. This extensive reach, combined with Trace’s 21st anniversary celebrations, underscores the network’s commitment to African music and conservation. “African artists are powerful voices and can make a difference in raising awareness for better wildlife protection,” noted Olivier Laouchez, Co-founder and Executive Chairman of the Trace Group. “Trace is proud to host the Music for Wildlife shows, which perfectly align with our values and initiatives.”

Jandre Louw, Founder and CEO of OAS1SONE, expressed excitement about the collaboration: “This partnership brings together influential voices in African music and conservation to protect Africa’s wildlife. We’re thrilled to amplify this message to millions worldwide.”

Peter Knights, CEO of Wild Africa, emphasized the impact of using music to connect with global audiences: “This collaboration turns up the volume on issues that affect wildlife and the natural foundation on which human life depends.” As the initiative unfolds, “Music for Wildlife” promises to inspire audiences worldwide to engage in the fight for our planet’s future.
