HONOR is once again shaking up the smartphone market with the introduction of the HONOR 200 Series, promising to elevate mobile photography to studio-level standards.

The South African smartphone scene is abuzz with the launch of HONOR’s latest Number Series addition: the HONOR 200 Series. This new lineup, featuring the HONOR 200 Lite, HONOR 200, and HONOR 200 Pro, blends mid-range affordability with flagship performance, offering unparalleled studio-level portrait photography.

At an exclusive launch event, HONOR unveiled these devices to a gathering of media, stakeholders, and brand enthusiasts. Highlighting strategic partnerships and collaborations, HONOR announced unique engagements with local streetwear brand GALXBOY and GQ Magazine South Africa, underscoring the brand’s innovative marketing approach.

A standout feature of the HONOR 200 Series is its collaboration with the renowned Parisian portrait photography house Studio Harcourt. Together, they have co-engineered the HONOR AI Portrait Engine, a revolutionary mode that brings Studio Harcourt’s signature lighting and shadow effects to the palm of your hand, simplifying the complex two-hour photoshoot process into mere moments.

The HONOR 200 Pro

The flagship HONOR 200 Pro is designed for photography aficionados. It boasts a 50MP Portrait Main Camera with a Super Dynamic H9000 Sensor, ensuring impeccable image clarity with balanced light and shadows. Additionally, a 50MP Portrait Telephoto Camera with a customized Sony sensor enhances light sensing capabilities, capturing minute details even from a distance.

With 12GB of RAM and a 512GB storage drive, the HONOR 200 Pro ensures a seamless user experience. Operating on MagicOS 8.0, it offers AI-powered features like Magic Portal, Magic Capsule, and Magic Ring for an enhanced user experience.

In a significant endorsement, the HONOR 200 Pro has been named the official smartphone for the Esports World Cup (EWC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This device will power major mobile gaming competitions, making it a top choice for gaming enthusiasts. The Snapdragon 8 Series Mobile Platform, combined with a 5,200mAh Silicon-Carbon Battery providing up to 61 hours of use, ensures smooth gameplay and long battery life.

The HONOR 200

The HONOR 200 shares many of the Pro’s impressive features but comes with a slightly smaller 6.7-inch AMOLED quad-curved display offering peak brightness of 4,000 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and includes a 5,200mAh battery for extended use.

Available in Moonlight White and Black, while the Pro comes in Ocean Cyan and Black, the HONOR 200 series caters to various style preferences.

“HONOR developed the HONOR 200 Series to become the ultimate smartphone range for high-quality studio-level portrait photography. We want to make cutting-edge technology more accessible to the public and redefine the future of mobile photography, which is why partnering with Studio Harcourt was a significant milestone for the brand,” said Fred Zhou, CEO of HONOR South Africa.

The launch event, hosted by Tbo Touch and LootLove, featured live performances by Young Stunna and NaaqMusiQ, with DJ sets by DJ Zinhle and DJ Tira. Attendees had the chance to experience the devices’ studio-level photography capabilities first-hand.
