Johannesburg’s much-loved African karaoke night, now rebranded as Afri-Sauti Karaoke, has found a vibrant new home at Omen Rosebank. Founded in 2021, Afri-Sauti Karaoke has quickly become a cultural staple, offering a unique platform for Africans to sing in their mother tongues. This Friday, 2 August 2024, marks the official launch at the trendy Omen Rosebank, nestled at The Zone near Rosebank Mall.

A Night to Remember

Moving from its original Melville location, Afri-Sauti Karaoke’s new venue boasts the largest television screen in the area, a shisha bar, underground parking, and proximity to the Gautrain station. These features, combined with enhanced security, promise a seamless and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

To celebrate National Women’s Month, the relaunch will honor African women in music, in collaboration with Women In Music South Africa (WIMSA). Expect to sing along to hits by Angélique Kidjo, Brenda Fassie, Lebo Mathosa, Makhadzi, Shekhinah, Tiwa Savage, and many more.

A Unique Musical Experience

Spokenpriestess, a renowned South African Afrobeats DJ, curates the event’s playlist, ensuring it includes a diverse range of African Pop sounds and classics from South Africa. The aim is to encompass as many African songs in various languages as possible, showcasing the continent’s vast and diverse musical heritage. As Spokenpriestess explains, “With the word, ‘Sauti,’ meaning ‘sound’ in KiSwahili, the name perfectly describes the essence of our African karaoke offering.”
