This October, Rocking the Daisies 2024 is set to take festival fashion to new heights, thanks to a bold new collaboration with the iconic South African streetwear brand GALXBOY. From October 3 to October 6, festivalgoers will have the opportunity to pick up exclusive, limited-edition merchandise that perfectly blends the spirit of the festival with South Africa’s distinctive cultural style.
Known for its vibrant designs, GALXBOY has created a range that celebrates the fusion of music and artistry, providing festival attendees with stylish, must-have pieces that are set to leave a lasting impression. These limited-edition items will offer fans a unique way to commemorate their Rocking the Daisies experience while supporting local talent.
But the partnership doesn’t stop at merch. GALXBOY and Rocking the Daisies have also joined forces for the 2024 Festival Talent Search, a competition that showcases South Africa’s emerging fashion designers. The competition invited young creatives to submit five original looks, which were evaluated by a panel of industry experts.
Now, the top five designers have been selected, and they will present their collections at the highly anticipated Rocking the Daisies Fashion Showcase. Each collection will be aligned with the festival’s 2024 theme, “Into the Stars,” highlighting the innovative and forward-thinking spirit of the festival.
The winner of the Festival Talent Search will be announced at the showcase and will receive a cash prize of R20,000, along with the opportunity to collaborate on the Rocking the Daisies 2025 capsule collection. Additionally, the winning designer will embark on a one-week internship with GALXBOY’s Founder and Creative Director, Thatiso Dube, gaining valuable experience in the fashion industry.
