SOL Distro’s Summer of Visuals Empowers Artists Through Ownership and Innovation
Following the successful debut of SOL Distro, SlikourOnLife’s artist empowerment platform, the company launches SOL Distro Summer of Visuals, a groundbreaking initiative reshaping how music and visual storytelling are financed across Africa. The pilot project allows artists to access funding for their visual projects while maintaining 100% ownership and no repayment obligations, advancing a fairer creative economy.

This first-of-its-kind model merges music, media, and technology to encourage authentic storytelling and independent growth. By directly funding visuals, SOL Distro introduces a new form of music-media integration, where visuals and sound work together to build culture and strengthen economic empowerment for artists.
Founder Siya “Slikour” Metane emphasizes that transforming the industry requires unlearning traditional systems while applying lessons from beyond the music business. Through Summer of Visuals, SOL Distro continues its mission to create artist-centered structures grounded in creative freedom, funding access, and ownership—a vision shaping the future of African music.
Notable collaborators in this pilot include Blaklez, Jay Jody, Dusse Wavy, Roii, Touchline, Given Kanu, and DJ Stresser, each contributing to a new chapter in Africa’s creative evolution.
