Zimbabwean Artist Kingsley Signs Strategic Publishing Deal With Gallo Music

20 February 2026

While many emerging artists focus solely on the front-end fame of streaming numbers and viral moments, Zimbabwean singer-songwriter Kingsley is shoring up the back-end. In a significant move for his independent career, Kingsley has entered into a publishing agreement with Gallo Music Publishers. The deal is structured not just as a standard signing, but as a partnership that establishes Kountry Klub Publishing as an official division of his own Kountry Klub Records. This partnership provides the infrastructure necessary to maximize the commercial value of his compositions, covering everything from royalty collection and administration to potential synchronization placements in film and TV.

The deal comes on the heels of his debut hip-hop fusion album, Kountry Klub King, released last year. According to Rob Cowling, Head of Publishing at Gallo, the label took notice after seeing the traction on his single “Are You That Somebody” ft. Usmokolo. “We became aware that this rising star was also a talented songwriter and producer,” Cowling explained. “This deal eases the burden many rising creators find in balancing the freedom to be creative with the office administration required in registering songs and tracking income.”

For Kingsley, the partnership validates a goal set years ago. “It is a tremendous privilege to continuously achieve the goals I set for myself at 16, to be more than just an artist, and to strive to be the best in both artistry and business,” he stated. To mark the announcement, Kingsley has released the official visualizer for “Show You The World,” a romantic anthem off his debut album that speaks to ambition and the promise of better days.

Ms. Gideon Becomes First Namibian Artist On Sony Music Africa

10 February 2026

The hunt for talent in Southern Africa has officially expanded beyond South Africa’s borders with a historic move for the region. Sony Music Africa has announced the signing of Ms. Gideon, marking the first time a Namibian recording artist has joined the global music giant’s roster. Facilitated through a partnership with ERA Music Group, the deal positions the 20-year-old Windhoek native as one of the continent’s most promising new voices, signaling a major strategic shift toward “frontier” markets within the African music ecosystem.

Born Panduleni Gideon, the singer-songwriter has experienced a meteoric rise over the last 24 months, transforming from a school choir member to a continental breakout star. After winning the 2024 Next Narrative Africa competition, she performed at the legendary Apollo Theater in New York alongside heavyweights like Adekunle Gold and Patoranking. Her commercial breakthrough followed shortly after with the single “Home,” which shattered local records by becoming the fastest song from Namibia to reach 1 million views on YouTube, proving her digital and cultural impact.

Speaking on the milestone, Ms. Gideon described the signing as a victory for “every young girl back home who dreams boldly,” emphasizing her desire to represent Namibia with pride on the world stage. With a sound rooted in soul and Afrobeats, she is set to capitalize on this momentum immediately. Her debut single under the new deal, titled “Tiki Tak Tak,” is slated for release on 27 February 2026.
