Recording Academy Confirms New Broadcast Era Ahead Of 2027 Grammy Awards Ceremony

The Recording Academy has officially confirmed that the 2027 Grammy Awards will air live on ABC, marking the first time the music awards ceremony has been broadcast on the network since 1972. The event will also be simulcast on Disney+ and Hulu as part of a wider multi-platform distribution strategy. The 2027 ceremony is scheduled to take place at the iconic Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, 7 February 2027. The announcement was made during Disney’s annual Upfront presentation in New York City.

Eligibility And Voting Dates Confirmed

The Recording Academy also confirmed the official timeline for the upcoming Grammy season. The eligibility period runs from 31 August 2025 until 28 August 2026, while nominations for the 2027 awards will be announced on 16 November 2026. Final round voting is expected to conclude in January 2027 ahead of the televised ceremony. The Academy stated that the transition to ABC represents a major step in expanding the reach of the Grammys across television and streaming audiences.

Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. described the transition as the beginning of a “bold new chapter” for the organisation and the awards show. “The Grammys are all about celebrating the music that moves the world, and this moment is built on exactly that,” said Harvey Mason jr., CEO of the Grammys. “This is an exciting time for us as an organization—a new home and a bold new chapter for the Grammy Awards. We’re just getting started and the best is yet to come.”

The Grammy Awards remain one of the music industry’s most recognised honours, with the Recording Academy representing more than 30,000 music professionals across songwriting, production, engineering and performance.
