Collective Club Launches New Monthly Meet For Creatives
For many freelancers and artists in Johannesburg, the creative process can be an isolating one. While the city buzzes with output, from fashion to music, the actual work often happens in silos. Hoping to bridge that gap between solitary creation and community connection, Collective Club has announced the launch of a new monthly networking series: Creatives Meet. The inaugural session is set for Friday, 13 February 2026, taking place at Pulse 99 Coffee in the heart of Braamfontein’s cultural district.
The “Anti-Isolation” Strategy
The initiative is led by Kelly Maredi, founder of Collective Club, who identified a need for consistent, low-pressure environments where photographers, DJs, designers, and writers could cross paths naturally.
“Our mission is simple: to help creatives connect, exchange ideas, and break out of isolation,” explains Maredi. “Creatives often work alone, but the best ideas come from collaboration. Creatives Meet is the space to meet peers who understand your craft and inspire your next project.”
Unlike traditional networking events which can often feel transactional or corporate, the “Creatives Meet” format is designed to be relaxed. The debut event at 99 Juta Street will feature live music from a DJ and interactive activities designed to break the ice, alongside the usual mix of coffee and conversation.
A New Monthly Ritual
The February 13th event marks the beginning of a long-term project. Collective Club intends to host these meetups monthly, establishing a reliable rhythm for the local scene. By providing a consistent schedule, the organizers hope to build a genuine community where collaboration becomes a habit rather than a one-off occurrence. Access to the event has been kept intentionally accessible, with a reservation fee of R29 to manage capacity in the intimate venue.
