Absa Group Limited regrets to confirm that the annual Absa L’Atelier Art Competition will be postponed until further notice. The much-anticipated pan-Africa art competition was scheduled to open to participants from 12 African countries on 1 April 2020, with the prize giving to take place in September 2020.

However, given the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic, and in accordance with the National State of Disaster called by the South African government and guidelines from the World Health Organisation, Absa Group Limited have taken the decision to postpone the competition.

In addition, the Absa Art Gallery in Johannesburg will be closed until further notice.

Above all, Absa Group Limited prioritises the health and safety of our colleagues, customers, artists and art supporters, and the general public. During this period, please conform to all state and health protocols outlined, to help us stop the spread of COVID-19.
