Venter’s Solo Exhibition Blends Sacred Tradition and Digital Tools
Simon Venter’s Cape Town exhibition, ‘The Stories We Tell,’ reimagines Christian iconography for contemporary South Africa using generative AI. Biblical figures become metaphors for modern endurance and disillusionment. The AI was central as a “tool that helped the artist to reshape composition and atmosphere,” which Venter transformed through oil painting. The show runs from October 2 to November 18, 2025, at the Sisonke Gallery.
